The official agenda for Adeje at Fitur, the Spanish tourism trade fair being held in Madrid this week, begins tomorrow, Tuesday, with mayor José Miguel Rodríguez Fraga participating in a key event in the state department of tourism, representing the AMT, the alliance of tourism municipalities of Spain. He will also be taking part in events organised by Exeltur, the national alliance for tourism excellence.
The mayor and Adeje’s tourism councillor, Adolfo Alonso Ferrera, are attending the trade fair but with a slimmed down delegation given Covid restrictions. Others will also be attending online. Adeje is present alongside the island and regional authorities, offering an image of solidarity in terms of projecting the destination commercially. The primary objective this year is to work on sector recovery during 2022.
The mayor, as president of the AMT, will meet with Fernando Valdés, secretary of the national tourism department, looking at a number of projects for 2022, which include the advancement of digitization and sustainability as part of tourism developments.
