The Adeje Tapas Route, an integral part of the annual Degusta.Me gastronomy festival, will run until December 8th in 19 different establishments in different parts of Adeje town and borough. Each tapa that is entered by the bar, restaurant or café in question will cost €3.50 (including a drink) or €2.50 (without drink).
According to councillor Manuel Luis Méndez Martín, “with the 2021 tapas route we are working to energise the local gastronomy sector and introduce people to the culinary richness of the restaurants, cafes and bars in the borough. We are also eager for the public to see the quality and professional service on offer in the sector in Adeje, a sector which creates jobs and gives the borough added value”.

degustameadeje.com where users can find all the information they need to enjoy the tapas on offer, ingredients, opening hours of the establishments, etc. There are also directions for each place and a ranking for the tapas.
The winning tapa will be awarded gold, a diploma and a cheque for €300, second place will be presented with a cheque for €200 and the winner of the bronze also gets a cheque for €100. The tapa that wins the top vote from the professional jury will be awarded a special diploma and a cheque for €300.
The public online are the jury voting for the best tapa, and there will be a gold, silver and bronze awarded. There will also be a professional jury judging the entries, evaluating flavour, ingredients, preparation and presentation. Their final decision will be taken in conjunction with the popular vote.
As in previous years there are prizes for taking part in the competition – the top client’s prize is a 2-night stay in a 5 star hotel and a lunch or dinner for two in the establishment that wins gold in the tapas route. Second prize is also a 2-night stay in a 5 star hotel and a meal in the winner of silver in the tapas competition. The 3rd placed client winner can stay in a 4 star hotel and eat in the establishment that has won bronze, and 4th prize is a lunch or dinner for two in the restaurant that wins most professional tapas.
There will be runner up prizes of lunch or dinner for other clients in all of the participating establishments.
