Adeje launches a care campaign, “Adeje te cuida”

The goal is to let the public know the preventative work INFOSEX Adeje is doing in the fight against Aids and HIV

1 december 2021
Marking today, December 1st, World Aids Day, Adeje council has again formed part of the events to mark this day, launching details of the campaign to combat further spreads of HIV and Aids.  In solidarity with those who are sufferers the Plaza de España will be lit in red and a large banner hung from the doors of the Town Hall.

“We are all susceptible to HIV and Aids and other sexually transmitted diseases if we are taking risks in our sexual lives”, said the councillor for health Amada Trujillo Bencomo.  This is why, she continued, the council have launched a care campaign, ‘Adeje te cuida’ (Adeje is looking after you), the objective being to advance and promote the preventative work of INFOSEX Adeje, a service providing information and rapid testing for the detection of HIV and other STDs, promoted by the regional department of health in partnership with Adeje council.

INFOSEX Adeje works in particular with sections of the population who are more vulnerable to infection – men who are in sexual relationships with other men, bisexual men, transsexuals, those working in the sex trade, and is open to all who wish to avail of the services, whether they are registered with the public health service or not.

You can contact the service via WhatsApp on 627971505, or email infosexadeje@adeje.es. Within 24 hours you will receive a reply from the service giving you a date and time for your appointment. This service is 100% free, confidential and anonymous.

INFOSEX ADEJE is in the offices of the Adeje health Department, in C/ Tinerfe el Grande, 32, Edificio de Hacienda y Salud, 1º Floor. Public hours are 8am to 5pm, with prior appointment.
