26 november 2021
From November 20th to 28th Ascan Torrabonaf UTE Adeje and the Adeje council have been running events as part of European Week for Waste Reduction, an initiative working to promote and implant actions that encourage sustainability and the prevention of excess waste creation. The activities were all organised under the 3 Rs – reduction, reuse and recycling.
As part of the programme of activities, different groups of Adeje residents were invited to visit the installation of Ascan Torrabonaf UTE Adeje, the waste collection and management centre for Adeje. On November 24th and 25th school students and seniors were invited into the installation to see the machines at work, the tools used for cleaning the borough, the waste separation procedures, etc. The students’ visit ended with a talk and exhibition to promote awareness and the need to protect our environment, and the older guests were invited to a talk organised under the TREEMAC label where the issue of micro plastics in the sea was discussed. This was followed by a visit to the Arico environmental complex.
