Direct aid to those in the restaurant sector of up to €700,000

The goal of the grants is to reactivate and energise the local sector building employment and economic activity

24 june 2021
The Adeje department of economic development and employment is making direct grants available to those in the restaurant sector.  The councillor in charge of the area, Raquel Rodríguez Alonso, said that goal was to reactivate and energise the local restaurant sector, allowing businesses to re-open or remain open and regain a competitive edge.  “This is another measure we are introducing to meet the difficulties that have been created by the Covid-19 crisis”.

This particular financial aid will be for those autonomous/self-employed categories, small businesses operating in the Adeje borough in the sector.  Those who benefit do not have to be resident in Adeje but the business must be based here, and the amount per person will be €2,000.  Applications for aid will be open from the middle of July.  The councillor added that a further one million euros will be made available during the year to assist other local business in the overall economic recovery post-Covid.

It is important to state that the aid is for those businesses that have been visibly affected by closure due to the pandemic, or have registered a marked decline in income as a result of measures taken to remain open during the pandemic.  Furthermore, to be eligible for the grant, those applying must be registered with Social Security and the Hacienda administrations.

The applications must be directed to the economic development sector in the Adeje council, digitally via the council’s online page, www.ayuntamientodeadeje.es, within 10 days from the official publication of the notice.  From that date the full details will be available online the council webpage.
