10 june 2021
This weekend 50 swimmers and 11 national teams are taking part in the only international certificate pre-Olympic event in the T3 centre in Adeje.  The national teams and swimmers will be heading off soon to Tokyo for the Para Olympic games but are here this weekend to swim against non-disabled Canarian swimmers from the FEDECANAT Canarian federation.

For the Adeje sports councillor, Adolfo Alonso Ferrera, this is “a great opportunity for these elite athletes to enjoy our climate and installations, and for us their presence helps promote our island”.

The event is sponsored by the Fundación DISA in collaboration with Tenerife Top Training, Adeje Town Hall, Hospital San Juan de Dios Tenerife and the  Midayu Tenerife organisation, and organised by B-Swim. Some of the top Olympic swimmers attending this weekend will include Michelle Alonso Morales, Sebastián Rodriguez Veloso, David Leveq Vives, Miguel Luque Ávila, Judit Rolo Marichal,  Iván Fernández Saez-Benito, Alejandro Rojas Cabrer, Eva Coronado Tejeda, and swimmers from Canarian clubs CN Las Palmas, Enagracan, Cn Galaico, CN Badía, Cn Ferca, Fundación Adapta2, Aquatic Campanar, CD Teneteide, CN Bentacu Laguna, Agrupación Deportiva Santa Cruz and Midayu Tenerife.

All the events will follow strict Covid-19 restrictions and swimmers will be tested 48 hours before competition. Unfortunately members of the public will not be permitted to attend the event.
