Adeje council’s department of Culture, under councillor María Clavijo Maza, has announced that potential participants have until August 13th to register to take part in a series of weekend markets that will be happening in the borough from August 27th until September 20th. The ‘Mercadeando en Adeje’ will help inject some life back into the sector and add to the social and cultural atmosphere of the borough.
The fair will be running each week from Thursday to Sunday in the Jardines del Duque zone, by the corner of Avenida Moscú and Calle Helsinki. The councillor said, “we are working to inject some cultural and economic life back into the zone as well as offering the public an outdoor activity, with crowd controls, and where hygienic measures will be observed and followed”.
Information for those who would like to be involved are on the council’s main webpage,
www.adeje.es and you can apply online, with only one stall slot per applicant allowed. All those who wish to have stalls will also have to supply evidence of a full civil responsibility policy that includes third party cover, as well as tax compliance certificates, and more details are available online.
The fair will run from 5pm – 10pm on Thursdays and Fridays and from 12 noon to 10pm on Saturdays and Sundays. The first three weeks will be dedicated to crafts in collaboration with the Tenerife Cabildo, and the last week, from September 17th to 20th will be bargain fair events.
