Adeje makes good on its promise to support local culture with its Summer 2020 in Adeje programme

The events are taking place in July, August and September in different parts of the borough, free entry but booking on www.tomaticket.et

The Adeje councils department of Culture, with Councillor María Clavijo Maza, is launching a Summer 2020 programme, ‘Summertime in your Neighbourhood’. The programme will offset the cancellation of so many events in the first half of the year as a result of Covid-19 as well as promoting local musicians and acts.

The events are taking place in July, August and September in different centres in the borough, and while entry will be free, you will need to book online in advance, www.tomaticket.es, as capacity will be limited.

Councillor Clavijo Maza said the object of the initiative was to help “generate the creative process again, slowly, gradually, with our residents alongside”.  She added that the council always work to bring events to the people, to the urban centres, and this year it is also to offer a summer alternative to the neighbourhoods, given that so many local fiestas and events have been cancelled due to the pandemic.  “The council have reinvented the summer programme with this alternative that will reach all parts of the borough”.

On safety, Clavijo Maza said that they were asking people to use their sense of responsibility.  “All activities will need to be carried out under the health and safety conditions in place, and the public would need to use face masks and observe social distancing”.

Events will be taking place in Tijoco Bajo, Las Nieves, Los Olivos, Armeñime, La Caleta, Los Menores, La Hoya, La Quinta, Fañabé, La Concepción and Callao Salvaje.
