The Adeje council, hand in hand with the University of La Laguna (ULL), has just announced details of this year’s Adeje Equality School, which will be held online from June 15 to August 30th. This is the third year the course has been run. It is a 100 hour course and accredited by the Department of Psychological Evolution and Education of the ULL.
“This course, which is free, is made possible thanks to funding from the State Pact against Domestic Violence”, explained the Adeje councillor in charge of Equality Politics, Carmen Lucía Rodríguez del Toro. She added that, “given the numbers who applied to take part we did give priority to people who live and/or work in Adeje, and in the south of Tenerife”.
This year the course is adapted to the ‘new reality’ that has been caused by Covid-19 and will be online. 100 hours of training divided into 5 modules of 20 hours each. All course content is related to the promotion of equality and the prevention of and intervention in violence against women in a continuous and specialised manner.
The training modules on offer are; Education in equality - games, colours, and songs in infants and primary classrooms; Basic aspects of domestic violence – sensitivities and prevention information in designing good practise; Equality training – preventing gender violence in sports; Keys for prevention, detection, intervention in gender violence in secondary schools; Attention to gender violence – resilience promotion from social bodies.
The training modules are offered via a Families Network platform (Moodle), or via the Moodle Mobile app.
