IV Visita Lustral de Nuestra Señora la Virgen

PROGRAMME OF EVENTS

29 september 2025
Sunday, 31 August
Lighting of the Lustral Flame and Raising of the Virgin's Flag
7pm, Santa Úrsula parish church: Mass with the blessing and handover of parish flags and the descent of the statue of the Virgen de la Encarnación from her niche, followed by the traditional kissing of her hand.
Official staffs, medals of the Visita Lustral and the book of minutes will be given to those acting as secretaries. Processions from each parish will set off carrying torches towards the Fuente de Las Torres, where the Lustral Flame will be lit. Afterwards, the Virgin’s flag will be carried in solemn procession to the Fuente de Las Torres and raised.
Upon arrival: performance by Parranda Mesturao.

Friday, 5 September
Gala in honour of the IV Visita Lustral
8pm, Adeje Auditorium: Grand gala celebrating the IV Visita Lustral of Nuestra Señora la Virgen de la Encarnación.
Presentation of the Lustral Court.
Guest speaker: Elsa López, writer and editor, winner of the José Hierro National Poetry Prize, the Gold Medal, and the Canary Islands Literature Prize.

Saturday, 6 September
Night Pilgrimage
6pm: Solemn Mass at Santa Úrsula parish church, followed by a night-time pilgrimage to San Sebastián. Upon arrival: firework display and a performance by Toke Latino.

Sunday, 7 September – La Hoya
6pm: Mass at San Sebastián parish church followed by the Virgin’s departure  through La Hoya, Tijoco Bajo, La Concepción and Tijoco Alto to La Milagrosa parish. Upon arrival: formal welcome and Liturgy of the Word.
8 pm: Performance by the IMOQUE cultural association in the plaza of La Hoya.

Wednesday, 10 September – Tijoco Bajo
6pm: Mass and departure of the Virgin to the Tijoco Bajo neighbourhood. Upon arrival: welcome and Liturgy of the Word, followed by a return procession to La Milagrosa parish.

Thursday, 11 September – La Concepción
6pm: Mass and procession with the Virgin to La Concepción neighbourhood. Upon arrival: welcome and Liturgy of the Word.

Friday, 12 September – Tijoco Alto
6pm: Mass and departure of the Virgin from La Concepción chapel to Tijoco Alto. Upon arrival: welcome and Liturgy of the Word. Return to La Milagrosa parish.
 
Saturday, 13 September – La Hoya
10am to 1pm: Family gathering at La Milagrosa parish.

Sunday, 14 September – Armeñime
6pm: Mass and departure of the Virgin to the Armeñime parish church. Upon arrival: welcome and Liturgy of the Word.
8pm: Performance by Quimbao La Nuit in the plaza of Armeñime.

Wednesday, 17 September – El Puertito
6pm: Mass and procession with the Virgin to El Puertito. Upon arrival: welcome and Liturgy of the Word. Return to Armeñime parish.
 
Thursday, 18 September – Callao Salvaje – Playa Paraíso
6pm: Mass and procession with the Virgin to Callao Salvaje, with a stop in Playa Paraíso. Upon arrival: welcome and Liturgy of the Word. Return to Armeñime parish.
 
Friday, 19 September – Ricasa
6pm: Departure of the Virgin to Ricasa, with a stop in Marazul. Upon arrival: welcome and Mass. Return to Armeñime parish.

Saturday, 20 September – Los Menores – Las Rosas
10am to 1pm: Family gathering in Armeñime parish.
6pm: Mass and departure of the Virgin to Los Menores, with a stop in Las Rosas. Upon arrival: welcome and Liturgy of the Word. Return to Armeñime parish.

6pm: Mass and procession with the Virgin to San José de Los Olivos parish. Upon arrival: welcome and Liturgy of the Word.
8pm: Performance by Masara Traore in the plaza of Los Olivos.

Tuesday, 23 September – Las Nieves
6pm: Mass and procession with the Virgin to Las Nieves. Upon arrival: welcome and Liturgy of the Word. Return procession to the parish.

Wednesday, 24 September – El Galeón
 6pm: Mass and procession with the Virgin to El Galeón. Upon arrival: welcome and Liturgy of the Word. Return procession to the parish.

Thursday, 25 September – Taucho
6pm: Mass and procession with the Virgin to Taucho. Upon arrival: welcome and Liturgy of the Word.

Friday, 26 September – La Quinta
6pm: Mass and procession with the Virgin from the chapel in Taucho to La Quinta. Upon arrival: welcome and Liturgy of the Word. Return to Los Olivos parish, with stops in Las Moraditas and Las Torres.
 
Saturday, 27 September – La Viña and La Postura
10:30am: Youth gathering in the plaza of Los Olivos.
6pm: Mass and procession with the Virgin to La Viña and La Postura. Upon arrival: welcome and Liturgy of the Word. Return procession to the parish.

Sunday, 28 September – Los Olivos – Fañabé
10am to 1pm: Family gathering in Los Olivos parish.
6pm: Mass and procession with the Virgin to Nuestra Señora la Virgen del Campo parish in Fañabé. Upon arrival: welcome and Liturgy of the Word.
8pm: Performance by the Adeje Municipal Folklore School in the plaza of Fañabé.
 
Tuesday, 30 September – La Caleta
6pm: Mass and procession with the Virgin to La Caleta. Upon arrival: welcome and Liturgy of the Word.

Thursday, 2 October – Miraverde
6pm: Mass and procession with the Virgin to Miraverde. Upon arrival: welcome and Liturgy of the Word. Return to Fañabé parish.

Friday, 3 October – Fañabé
6pm: Mass at Fañabé parish.

Saturday, 4 October – Maritime Procession
6pm: Departure of the Virgin to Puerto Colón.
Maritime procession to La Enramada with light and sound show and re-enactment of the Virgin’s arrival on the Adeje coast.
Torchlight procession to El Humilladero, followed by Mass.
The statue will then be taken to San Sebastián church.
Evening closes with a concert by Generación Zero in the San Sebastián plaza.

Sunday, 5 October – Adeje
6pm: Mass and departure of San Sebastián along the Camino de la Virgen to Adeje town.
Formal welcome of the Virgin of the Encarnación in the Cruz del Llano plaza by the parish and La Hermandad del Santísimo (the Brotherhood of the Blessed Sacrament).
Procession to Santa Úrsula parish church along Calle Grande, with a stop at the Town Hall to honour the town’s Honorary and Perpetual Mayoress and Canonical Patron. On arrival at the parish church, there will be an official reception.
Concert by Olga Cerpa y Mestisay, ‘Atlantic Sound’, in the Plaza de España.
