Green smoothie workshop!

Go green for great health

22 october 2021
The overall aim of this workshop is to promote healthy lifestyle habits and reinforce
our immune system and the microbiotic (good bacteria) presence in our systems,
leading to an overall improvement in wellbeing for those who have or have had
breast cancer.

Every day we are learning more about how lifestyles are very relevant in the
prevention and treatment of non-transmissible illnesses (diabetes, cancer,
hhypertension, obesity, mental health issues, etc). Prevention, early detection and
research are hugely important too.

Healthy eating habits, an exercise programme suited to your age and abilities, and a
healthy mind are fundamentally important in improving your immune system and
feeling good. Unfortunately, the Canary Islands continues to have high obesity
numbers, adults and children, high levels of breast cancer, diabetes, and, sadly, we
are one of the Spanish autonomous communities with high suicide rates.

This workshop will introduce you to green juices and smoothies, mixing vegetables
and fruits for amazingly tasty results. You will learn to distinguish between different
groups, learning which fruits are incompatible, using produce that is seasonal and
local, and that can be brought fresh in our local farmers markets and shops.

Workshop leader: Margarita Arantzazu Hernández Sabina, técnico superior en salud
ambiental, formadora en hábitos saludables y educación ambiental.
